We recently came across adminer, which is a phpmyadmin competitor and after using it for some time we felt that phpmyadmin is really an old tool and misses lots of features that todays phpmyadmin should have. So, here we have adminer, with much better features and it comes as just a single file (yeah, that’s pretty cool about it) whereas phpmyadmin is way too heavy.
Here are some adminer features:
1) Really light weight and comes in a single file. (Adminer 2.3.2 is only 181 kB)
2) Foreign key support is much better and intuitive.
3) Check users and change their permissions
4) Managements of events and table partitions
5) create, alter and drop indexes, triggers, procedures, functions
