Recently we saw a couple of earthquakes, cyclones and tornadoes and similar natural disasters. These things can happen to anyone at any time. Here is what you should do to stay safe. You need to build yourself a disaster kit.

Usually it takes several hours, at times even days, before vital services are restored. A disaster kit can come handy and would help you to survive. Check out 72hours.org. You can build your disaster kit there easily. The website bears “The Seal of City and County of San Francisco” so it might be approved  by some government authorities.

There is also a good how to at wikihow.com that we will recommend. It talks about the required stuff and the quantity one should have in a disaster kit. Also there is a checklist compiled by US Department of Homeland Security which you can find here.

Stay safe.

Not sure that I'm organised enough to have a disaster kit ready in waiting.

I'm glad they actually included water, food, and a first aid kit. Some people don't.
