While the world outside is waiting eagerly for Apple’s Tablet (iSlate?), Microsoft is busy with its own plans. From what we have heard from Gizmodo they are launching their HP built tablet (or as some people call it, a booklet) tomorrow at CES 2010. The tablet named as Courier is a dual screen device having multitouch screens and is optimized for use with both stylus and fingers. You can draw images, keep a track of your appointments and other usual stuff. It has a camera at the back with battery life and wireless signals displayed along the rim of the screen. Both the screen are reported to be 7 inches in dimension and have a flexible hinge in the middle facilitating the booklet behavior of Courier. We are also expecting a 3G connectivity although its not confirmed yet.

courier1_originalCourier has one of the most interesting data storage and retrieval methodology. The courier consist of infinite pages. You can write on them, draw on them or simply record a video on them. Each page will get a unique id (something like a page number) and a time stamp. Users will be allowed to put tags on pages for easy reference. Also Courier will be offering an option to share your notes and pages over the Internet. When shared, your friends and colleagues will be able to edit the documents and work collaboratively (reminds me of Google Wave).

And last but not the least, we have amazing Courier Pen. This pen consist of two buttons which provides some out-of-the-box editing functions. The buttons have an undo function to, well, undo the mess you have created. You can switch between pen functions and marker functions by using these buttons. You can also twist this stylus to activate the drawing functions of the tablet.
