googlechinaHow did Google came to know that Chinese are hacking them? This question was bothering me from last few hours. It is not that they received a phone call from a Chinese guy saying that you are being hacked by us. Well, according to The New York Times, Google engineers hacked back its hackers to get hold of the suspected server.

When Google engineers realized that their servers are being hacked, they immediately started a counterattack operation. The servers were being hacked from Taiwan. Upon breaking into the Taiwan computer, Google found out evidence that at least 33 other companies, including Adobe Systems, Northrop Grumman, Juniper Networks and maybe Yahoo (not yet confirmed) were also targeted. Although Google tried hard and worked with American intelligence to prove that it was Chinese masterminds work but it was unable to find out any proof to support its theory. The New York Times wrote “much of the evidence, including the sophistication of the attacks, strongly suggested an operation run by Chinese government agencies, or at least approved by them”.

Computer experts says that most of the sophisticated attacks originate from China. Whether these hackers are associated with the Chinese government or its just a kind of safe environment they get there, is difficult to say. But Everyone got one message straight, you hack Google and they will hack you back right away. So beware!
