nook-kindle-comparisonWith release of iPad and new iPhone, the ebook reader market is a bit low. But thanks to this a new price war has started among Kindle and Nook. Amazon has reduced the price of its Kindle to $189 from $259, and Barnes & Noble’s Wi-Fi-only version of the Nook is available for $149. We anticipate that release of new iOS 4 and iPhone is the key factor behind all this. Although it is true that iPhone has a very small screen when compared with Nook or Kindle but the availability of free iBooks app makes all this negligible.

Also it is worth nothing that there is a kindle app for iPad but it seems that ebook readers are trying to show themselves as cheap gizmos having potential to replace something like an iPad.

Do you think Kindle or Nook would be able to lower iPad sales by this? Would you consider buying an ebook reader or rather save for a tablet?

true an ebook reader can never beat iPhone but it's cheap cost might reduce iPhone sales a bit

<$200 is quite affordable but an ebook reader can never replace a smart gadget like iPhone

$149 is super cheap. I guess most of us are going to but an ebook reader now.
