Apple has updated their flagship media device, the Apple iPod Touch. While not as groundbreaking an update as the Nano underwent its nevertheless significant.

The Retina Display that we have heard so much about finally comes to the Touch, as does a 3-axis gyroscope (same as the one found on iPhone 4) to improve the sensitivity of the device. It (finally) comes with a camera, both front and back. The rear camera can take 720p HD video at 30fps same as the iPhone, but the stills on it are not the 5 Megapixel as the iPhone but at 960 x 720, same as the video. The front is a VGA camera same as the iPhone. The biggest implication of all this you ask-FACETIME!!! The iPod is now Facetime enabled. to not only other Touches but iPhones as well.

Apart from this the usual. Faster processor-Apple A4 (as on iPhone), and its actually much thinner (if you can believe that) than the already super thin iPhone. It is a mind boggling .28 inch thick at its thickest compared to the .37 inch of the iPhone.It comes with iOS 4.1 which includes proximity sensor, Bluetooth issue fixes, arrival of game-center and other major-minor bug fixes.
