Apple App Store, iTunes Hacked?

July 5, 2010 | In: Apple | Written By: Aditya

If you are an Apple App Store customer or an iTunes user then make sure that you check out your bank account statement. It seems that a lot of Apple ids have been compromised and are being used to buy apps on App store. Hundreds of dollars are missing from a few users’ account. It is suspicious that out of top 50 book apps 40 were created by a Vietnamese developer “Thuat Nguyen”.

MacRumors forum thread shows that a number of users had their account compromised and hundreds of dollars were spent from their account to buy some apps which they never purchased personally. The Next Web has compiled a list of facts and do’s here, we recommend you to check it out and remove your bank account or credit card information from your Apple account for the time being.
